Any but the brand new Internet user knows that there are many, many
links
which can
provide you with lots of interesting and useful information about just about
anything. Two cautions, however: 1) Similar to any other media format, just
because you read it in the internet doesn't mean the information is necessarily either
true or up-to-date (URLs change, some sites are updated more frequently than others, and
there are liars and jokesters
online just as everywhere else), and 2) fruitful use of
the internet takes discipline. Otherwise you can get so sidetracked
you forget what you were initially looking for! It is informative if you have the time to "just surf!" It also can waste more time than you probably have.

For many years my
favorite search engine has been Google,
and a variation which
is excellent is
Google Scholar; when an item is typed into the latter with quotes around
it, you get fewer items but they are from more reliable sources.
